Meal Plan – November 12th – November 18th

  • Sunday – Dinner: Chicken Pot Pie, Ice Cream, and Chocolate Crinkle Cookies from The Fresh Market – The chicken pot pie was really, really disappointing. It had a very thin sauce, too many onions, and included lima beans, of which I’m not a fan. The crust was good, but not good enough to overcome everything else. Dessert was a different story. Their new ice cream is completely natural with only 5 ingredients listed, which I love. The cookies were like little brownie bites with just the right combination of crunch, chew, and chocolate. A perfect complement to the ice cream.

  • Monday – Dinner: Orecchiette with Stuffed Mushroom “Sauce” and Steamed Broccoli – Another achievement in the use of leftovers.

  • Tuesday – Dinner: Chicken Noodle Soup

  •

  • Thursday – Dinner: Pizza Hut – Don’t judge me, I blame Jim.

  • Friday – Dinner: Happy Hour Mezze Platter – My friend suggested happy hour, but with a 3 year old, a Friday night out isn’t really as much fun, but a Friday night in? Well, that can be just as fun, and WAY more economical. I put out a spread of Hummus with Pita Chips & Veggies, Tzatziki, Olives, Pickled Veggies, Feta, and Halloumi. Ann and I are now big fans of Halloumi. It’s often referred to as “bread cheese”, and has the texture and taste of chees that’s melted onto the pan from a grilled cheese sandwich. Yum!
